The Berlin-based law firm DSC Legal can register a new addition to its legal advisors. The founding partners of the law firm, Dr Peter Diedrich and Dr Istvan Szabados, were able to welcome Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Schwintowski, professor emeritus at the Humboldt University of Berlin, as Of Counsel. Above all, Schwintowski's research areas: banking and capital market law as well as energy law complement and strengthen DSC Legal's areas of expertise.
Diedrich and Szabados are thus consistently expanding DSC Legal as a law firm in the direction of specialising in the "renewable energy" sector. Since its foundation more than three years ago, the law firm has been growing continuously without neglecting its core approach: to provide clients with a highly individual but nevertheless comprehensive service, both professionally and personally.

Since 2000, Schwintowski has been the managing director of the Institute for Energy and Competition Law in the Municipal Economy e.V. (Institut für Energie- und Wettbewerbsrecht in der kommunalen Wirtschaft e.V. - EWeRK), which scientifically examines and discusses energy law and energy industry issues from the perspective of municipal companies and new players in the energy and supply markets. As a recognised expert in the field of network optimisation, he heads a research unit set up specifically for this purpose at the EWeRK. Schwintowski has also been chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Association of Insured Persons (Bund der Versicherten - BdV) since 1996.

Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Schwintowski, born on 23 September 1947 in Bad Harzburg, Germany, studied law in Göttingen after vocational training and employment in the insurance industry. He received his doctorate in 1982 on a topic in the field of antitrust law and habilitated in 1986 on the topic "The private insurance contract between law and the market". As a university lecturer, he taught business and corporate law at the universities of Würzburg, Passau and, since 1993, at the Faculty of Law of the Humboldt University in Berlin, of which he was Dean in 2003/2004.
